Hello!
Thanks for stopping by!
Let me take a minute to introduce myself and the key players in my little life.

Let me take a minute to introduce myself and the key players in my little life.
Seriously, I tried to find a (halfway decent) photo of me without my husband or my kids or one where I wasn't wearing a hat of some sort, but I couldn't find one.
Makes sense though, because I wear many.
I'm:
a mama
a wife
a daughter
a sister
a personal assistant to 3 people (who I'm not sure would be able to survive if I quit)
a maid
a cook (a bad one, but still part of my job description)
a chauffeur
a therapist (mostly to myself, but I say that counts)
a family planner/manager
and

a family planner/manager
and
a veteranarian
I've lived in Minnesota for the past 15 years (a place I never ever imagined I'd live) - via a year and a half stop in Bloomington, Indiana (love) - and although I claim Arizona as my home state, I moved around a ton as a kid and also lived in several cities in Texas, Washington and Oregon.

23 (moderately useless) things to know about me:
1. I have never gotten a
speeding ticket
.
2. I hate cilantro and tequila (which makes travel to Mexico
kind of a drag).
3. I have both a B.A. and a Masters degree in Elementary Education (redundant) but taught
4th grade for only 4 years before I had my first daughter. Those diplomas do look awfully nice on the wall, though.
4. I have an
inappropriate crush on Zac Efron (inappropriate because the 4th graders I once
taught are now actually older than he is).
5. I'm deathly - deathly
- afraid of snakes.
6. I love banana pancakes, banana bread &/or muffins, and banana cream pie, but really don't like to eat plain bananas.
7.
My favorite flowers are Peonies and I have 3 beautiful bushes in my front
yard, but I can't ever cut them and bring them inside because my cat will eat
them and immediately throw up
.
8. I love water slides
.
9. I am a
carb-a-holic and consider a french baguette with garlic butter a fine dinner.
10.
3 celebrities I'd love to be best friends with - Jennifer Garner, Lauren
Graham and Ellen DeGeneres.
11. I prefer to run inside on my treadmill rather than outside in the fresh air and sunshine.
12. I taught myself to crochet last year from watching YouTube videos. I don't ever have time to do it, but when I do, I love it.
13. I love Sweedish Fish and almost always have a bag in my car to snack on.
14. I love diet Pepsi (but hate regular Pepsi) and Coke (but hate diet Coke).
15. I wish I would've worked in television in some way, but not in front of the camera.
16. I take a hot bath every night (I'm not a friend to water conservation. So I recycle).
17. I am at Target at least 5 times a week. Even if I don't need anything there.
18. I'm still an awesome tap dancer (in my kitchen).
19. I love to sing along to The Carpenters, and not just their Christmas album.
20. I love awards shows and all things Hollywood (the Golden Globes are my favorite).
21. I am obsessed with Guinea Pigs but I'd never want one as a pet because I bet they stink. A lot.
22. A glass of wine a day (or 2...) keeps mama's grumpies away.
23. "Be Happy in this Moment. This Moment is your Life." is my favorite quote and I try my best to remember to live it every day.

But the most important thing to know about me is that my family is my world,
and I love them fiercely.
That's my long-suffering husband, who I met my freshman year in college (25 years ago - hence the 'long-suffering'), and our girls, who in this little blog are referred to as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
If you knew them, you'd know that even though there's over 5 years between them, they are two peas in a pod and the best of friends. Thing 1 is a junior in high school, funny and smart and kind (with an unhealthy infatuation with British boys), and Thing 2 is navigating the murky waters of middle school with her typical cheerfulness and chattiness and sunny outlook on life. They are both 100% theatre kids and being in a show &/or at rehearsal is their favorite....every day.
We live in the bitterly cold but often times beautiful state of Minnesota, where we moved 15 years ago despite all of my kicking and screaming. And even though I spent the first 7 years here planning our escape, we've somehow made it our home.
It's not so bad....if you can either sleep or stay drunk January - April (which I wouldn't know anything about).
